Emerald Yard started in 2004 with one truck, a trencher, and a stubborn idea: sprinkler systems here should be designed for here — sandy soil, ninety-degree Augusts, and a freeze that keeps its own calendar. Twenty-two years and 1,900 systems later, we still walk every yard before we quote it, flag every head before we trench, and answer our own phone.

When should I schedule my winterization blow-out?
Before the first hard freeze, which in Boise usually lands mid-October to early November. We run neighborhood routes from late September on, so booking early gets you a tighter window and a better price. If a surprise freeze shows up in the forecast, we add overtime routes — call and we'll fit you in.
Can you fix a system another company installed?
Almost always — most of our repair work is on systems we didn't install. Mismatched heads, valves buried without boxes, controllers from three owners ago: we diagnose it, price the fix before we touch anything, and leave you a map of what's actually underground.
How much water can a properly tuned system save?
Most lawns around here are overwatered by 30–50%, usually from running too often and too briefly. Deep, infrequent cycles matched to your soil, plus a controller that adjusts with the season, typically cut summer usage by about a third — without the lawn ever showing it.
Do you offer a season-long plan?
Yes — the Season Pass covers spring start-up, a mid-summer tune, and the fall blow-out for one flat price, booked in a single call. Plan customers also skip the line for repairs in July, when everyone's system decides to act up at once.
Are you licensed and insured?
Fully. We're a licensed Idaho irrigation contractor with certified backflow testers on staff, and we carry complete liability coverage. Backflow test reports get filed with the city for you — one less thing on your list.
