The studio

Small studio, whole-family care

Pearl & Pine opened in 2016 with two chairs, one very good espresso machine, and a promise: nobody leaves confused about their own teeth. We've grown to a team of eight, but we still block real time for every appointment, walk you through your X-rays on a big screen, and give you a written plan with prices before anything happens. Kids get their own corner (and a prize drawer that has gotten slightly out of hand), nervous patients get noise-cancelling headphones and a blanket, and everyone gets a straight answer. Most of our new patients come from a friend's recommendation — which is exactly how we like it.

Reviews

From our patients

I hadn't seen a dentist in six years because of a bad experience. Dr. Monroe never made me feel guilty about it once — just made a plan. Two visits later I was caught up.
Jess Calloway
My five-year-old cried when her appointment was over because she wanted to stay. At the dentist. I still don't fully understand it, but we're not switching.
Andre Whitfield
They quoted my crown to the dollar before starting and the bill matched exactly. After years of surprise dental bills, that alone earned my whole family's business.
Meredith Sloane
Fast, gentle, and genuinely kind. I picked the playlist, got a blanket, and my cleaning was done before the third song ended.

FAQ

Before your first visit

Straight answers about insurance, nerves, kids, and emergencies.

Do you take my insurance?

We're in-network with most major PPO plans and file claims for nearly all others. Send us a photo of your card before your visit and we'll verify your benefits and estimate your out-of-pocket cost — no surprises at checkout.

I'm nervous about the dentist. What do you do differently?

A lot of our patients arrive anxious — you're in good company. We go at your pace, explain each step before it happens, and offer noise-cancelling headphones, blankets, and breaks whenever you need one. Just tell us when you book and we'll build extra time into your visit.

How old should my child be for a first visit?

We like to meet kids around their first birthday or when their first tooth arrives — whichever comes first. Early visits are short and playful, mostly about getting comfortable in the chair.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Call us first thing — we hold same-day slots each morning for toothaches, chips, and lost crowns. If something happens after hours, our voicemail includes a line that reaches the on-call dentist.

What happens at my first appointment?

Plan for about an hour: digital X-rays, a full exam, a cleaning if time allows, and a sit-down conversation about what we found. You'll leave with a written plan, clear prices, and zero pressure to decide anything on the spot.
