Weather is a collaborator
I learned photography waiting: for light, for clearing storms, for a mountain to do the thing it does twice a year. Twelve years later that patience is the whole practice. I shoot expeditions and campaigns for outdoor brands, tourism boards, and conservation groups — often in places where the second attempt is a year away, which keeps the first attempt honest.
Commissions run from single-day shoots to three-week expeditions. I plan around weather windows, carry my own ropes, and deliver galleries that need no apology. Between assignments I photograph for the print archive — small editions of the quiet places, printed properly and numbered by hand.

Practical questions
How far do you travel?
Anywhere the story is. I'm based in Montana, shoot the Rockies constantly, and run three or four international commissions a year. Travel is quoted at cost, planned around realistic weather windows.
How does licensing work?
Plainly and in writing: you license the usage you need — term, territory, media — and can extend later. I keep portfolio rights. No one ever discovers a surprise invoice in year two.
What if the weather doesn't cooperate?
Weather days are planned into every quote, and I schedule shoots inside the season that gives the images the best odds. When a window truly closes, we reschedule — I'd rather deliver late than flat.
Are the prints really limited?
Yes — editions of 25 per image, printed on archival cotton rag, signed and numbered, and never reprinted once an edition closes. Certificates ship with every print.
