Kind words

From our clients

I ran my photography business for three years terrified of my own bookkeeping. Janet untangled all of it in two meetings and now I actually understand my numbers.
Renee Okafor
The IRS letter said I owed $11,000. Marcus read it, found the error in their math, and it ended with a $340 refund. I have never been so glad to pay an accountant.
Bill Stradley
Switching our restaurant's books to Barlow & Finch cut our monthly accounting cost and somehow doubled how much we understand. The mid-year check-in call alone is worth it.
Carmen Villanueva
They set up my LLC, my payroll, and my quarterly estimates in one week flat — and the invoice matched the price on the wall exactly.

FAQ

Questions we hear every season

How much will my tax return cost?

We quote a firm price at your intro meeting based on last year's return — individual returns start at $275, business returns at $650. The number we quote is the number on the invoice, even if the work runs long.

When should I book for tax season?

Returning clients are scheduled automatically in January. New clients should book by mid-February to guarantee filing by the deadline; after that we can still take you on, but an extension becomes likely — which, we'll happily explain, costs nothing and hurts nothing.

I'm behind on bookkeeping — years behind. Do you judge?

Never. Catch-up work is a third of our bookkeeping practice. Bring the shoebox, the shopping bag, or the login to the account you've been avoiding, and we'll quote the cleanup as a flat project before touching anything.

Can you help me decide between an LLC and an S-corp?

Yes — it's the most common question new business owners bring us. The honest answer depends on your profit, payroll tolerance, and plans, so we run your actual numbers both ways and show you the break-even point rather than reciting a rule of thumb.

What should I do with an IRS notice?

Open it, photograph it, and send it to us the same day — most notices have a response deadline. Do not call the number on the letter first. Roughly half the notices we see are wrong or already resolved; we'll tell you which within two business days.

First meeting's free

Bring us your shoebox.

The first meeting is free, the coffee is decent, and you'll leave with a written quote and a clear next step — whether or not you hire us.
